This single-cask bottling of a 25-year-old Ardmore single malt was produced by the independent bottler Elixir Distillers. The whisky was distilled in 1997, matured in a hogshead and bottled in 2023 in a run of 269 bottles.
The distillery is located south of Huntley and just inside Speyside. It was founded in 1898 by WmTeacher&Sons and most of the production went into the Teacher's Highland Cream blend for a long time.
Scotland and Scotch whisky is a global trend, a development that has led to a flourishing whisky scene in Scotland. There is hardly a week that goes by in which there is no news about another new distillery being built or the reopening of a distillery that has been closed for a long time.
Scotland, together with Ireland, is today considered the motherland of whisky, whose roots there go back to around 1500 AD.
