This single-cask bottling of a 25-year-old Port Dundas Single Grain Whisky was produced by the independent bottler Best Dram specifically to mark the 50th anniversary of Kirsch Import. The whisky was distilled in 2000, matured in an ex-bourbon cask and bottled at cask strength in 2026 in a run of 151 bottles.
Port Dundas was a distillery in Glasgow, Scotland, founded in 1811 by Daniel McFarlane in what is now the Glasgow district of Port Dundas. In 1845, Coffey stills were installed and production was switched to grain whisky. The distillery was closed in 2010.
Scotland and Scotch whisky is a global trend, a development that has led to a flourishing whisky scene in Scotland. There is hardly a week that goes by in which there is no news about another new distillery being built or the reopening of a distillery that has been closed for a long time.
Scotland, together with Ireland, is today considered the motherland of whisky, whose roots there go back to around 1500 AD.
