This single cask bottling of a single malt from an unnamed distillery in the Lowlands region was produced by the independent bottler The Cask Hound under the name Dalrymple as a special bottling, ‘The Stillman’s Gold’. The whisky was distilled in 2012, matured in a first-fill ex-Oloroso sherry puncheon and was bottled at cask strength in 2023 in a run of 537 bottles.
Scotland and Scotch whisky is a global trend, a development that has led to a flourishing whisky scene in Scotland. There is hardly a week that goes by in which there is no news about another new distillery being built or the reopening of a distillery that has been closed for a long time.
Scotland, together with Ireland, is today considered the motherland of whisky, whose roots there go back to around 1500 AD.
