This single cask bottling of a Slyrs Single Malt, released as an original distillery bottling, was produced as part of the Single Cask series. The whisky was distilled in 2018, matured in an ex-bourbon cask, finished in an ex-Moscatel sherry cask, and bottled at cask strength in 2023 in a run of 299 individually numbered bottles.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
