This bottling of a 10-year-old Ben Nevis single malt as an original distillery bottling was produced as Cask Strength Edition Batch No. 1. The whisky was distilled in 2008, matured in ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and ex-wine casks, and was bottled at cask strength in 2018 with 9,000 individually numbered bottles.
The distillery is located in Fort Williams, directly at the foot of Scotlands highest mountain, Ben Nevis. Founded in 1825 by the famous John Macdonald, it had a chequered history until its closure in 1986. Since 1989, the distillery has belonged to Nikka and is producing again.
