This bottling of a blended malt whisky called Hyphen was produced by Michel Couvreur in France. The blend consists of 75% Scottish single malt (distilled on 22 November 2006) matured in French Chenin barrels, and 25% peated French single malt (distilled on 15 November 2016) matured in an ex-Moscatel butt. The blend was bottled in 2024 with 940 individually numbered bottles.
Scotland and Scotch whisky is a global trend, a development that has led to a flourishing whisky scene in Scotland. There is hardly a week that goes by in which there is no news about another new distillery being built or the reopening of a distillery that has been closed for a long time.
Scotland, together with Ireland, is today considered the motherland of whisky, whose roots there go back to around 1500 AD.
