This single cask bottling of a Caol Ila single malt was produced by the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail in the Reserve Series especially for Scoma Germany. The whisky was distilled in 2000, matured in a first-fill ex-sherry hogshead and was bottled at cask strength in 2011 in 296 individually numbered bottles.
Caol Ila means Sound of Islay and derives from the location of the distillery directly on the strait. Founded in 1846 and renovated from the ground up in 1974, it produces a mid-range Islay whisky.
