This single cask bottling of a 12-year-old Caol Ila single malt was produced by the independent bottler Master of Malt in the Single Cask Series. The whisky was distilled in 2003, matured in a refill ex-sherry hogshead and was bottled at cask strength in 2015 with 274 individually numbered bottles.
Caol Ila means Sound of Islay and derives from the location of the distillery directly on the strait. Founded in 1846 and renovated from the ground up in 1974, it produces a mid-range Islay whisky.
