This single cask bottling of a 19-year-old Caol Ila was produced by the independent bottler Douglas Laing & Co. in the Old Particular series. The whisky was distilled in 1996, matured in a refill hogshead and was bottled in 2015 as a limited edition with only 313 bottles at cask strength.
Caol Ila means Sound of Islay and derives from the location of the distillery directly on the strait. Founded in 1846 and renovated from the ground up in 1974, it produces a mid-range Islay whisky.
