Dewars is a brand that today belongs to Bacardi, with the Aberfeldy distillery at its centre. It was founded by John Dewar, who had been running a wine and spirits business in Perth since 1846, which his sons successfully expanded. The Aberfeldy distillery was founded in 1896 to cope with the increasing turnover. The best-known product is Dewar's White Label.

Scotland, together with Ireland, is today considered the motherland of whisky, whose roots there go back to around 1500 AD.
