This spirit bottling, produced by Wagemut / Nicolas Kröger and named ‘PX-Cask Cask Strength’, is based on a rum from Barbados which is finished in ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry casks in Germany.
The label states a capacity of 700ml, but it is actually a 500ml bottle!
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
