This single-cask bottling of a 16-year-old Ben Nevis single malt was produced by the independent bottler Duncan Taylor as part of The Octave series (finished in special small casks). The whisky was distilled in 1996, finished in an ex-sherry Octave cask, and bottled at cask strength in 2013 in a run of 94 individually numbered bottles.
The distillery is located in Fort Williams, directly at the foot of Scotlands highest mountain, Ben Nevis. Founded in 1825 by the famous John Macdonald, it had a chequered history until its closure in 1986. Since 1989, the distillery has belonged to Nikka and is producing again.
