This bottling of a Slyrs single malt, released as the distillery’s original bottling, was produced as the Mountain Edition Kampenwand. The whisky was matured at an altitude of 1,501 metres on the summit of Mount Stümpfling and was bottled in 2025 in a run of 1,669 individually numbered bottles.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
