This single cask bottling of a mettermalt whisky, an original bottling from the distillery, was produced as the Greybeard Edition in honor of Robert Supper. The whisky was distilled in 2016, matured in an ex-bourbon cask, and bottled in 2025 in 483 bottles.
Fesslermill 1396 and the Fessler Mill in Sersheim an der Metter have been in existence for over 600 years, producing various brandies as well as Mettermalt whisky.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
