The Ox Distillery is a distillery in Wenighösbach, north of Aschaffenburg, housed in an old inn (Zum Ochsen); whisky has been produced there since 2013.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
