Stauning is a distillery in the town of Stauning in the municipality of Ringköbing in Denmark. It was founded in 2005, moved into new buildings outside the town in 2007 and is now 40% owned by Diageo.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business. Whisky output is at a very low level of sometimes only a few thousand bottles a year depending on the distillery.
