This single cask bottling of Ardmore single malt was specially produced by independent bottler The Caskhound (Tilo Schnabel) for Friends of Cask Hound. The whisky was distilled in 2009, matured in a refill ex-bourbon cask and finished for 606 days in a first-fill ex-Oloroso sherry barrique cask before being bottled in 2023 in 175 individually numbered bottles.
The distillery is located south of Huntley and just inside Speyside. It was founded in 1898 by WmTeacher&Sons and most of the production went into the Teacher's Highland Cream blend for a long time.
Scotland and Scotch whisky is a global trend, a development that has led to a flourishing whisky scene in Scotland. There is hardly a week that goes by in which there is no news about another new distillery being built or the reopening of a distillery that has been closed for a long time.
Scotland, together with Ireland, is today considered the motherland of whisky, whose roots there go back to around 1500 AD.
