This bottling of a 27-year-old Bowmore single malt as an original bottling of the distillery was produced in the Timeless series, the design of the heavy box is modelled on an hourglass (a real small hourglass is included). The whisky matured for 15 years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, was finished for 12 years in first-fill ex-Oloroso sherry butts and was bottled in 3000 bottles in 2020.
The distillery was founded in 1779, making it one of the oldest in Scotland. It is located on the shore of Loch Indaal in the centre of Islay, the warehouses are directly on the sea, partly below sea level.
