The whisky matured for 4 years in an ex-bourbon cask, was finished for 1 year in an ex-sugar beet brandy cask and was bottled at cask strength in 2023 with 118 individually numbered bottles.
The St. Kilian distillery is located in the municipality of Rüdenau and has been producing its single malt whisky there since 2016. The multiple award-winning single malt whisky is distilled according to Scottish tradition and has established an excellent reputation in the whisky world in a short time.
As of 2017, there are already more than 150 distilleries in Germany producing German whisky. Most distilleries produce clear brandies and use whisky production as a niche and side business.
