This single cask bottling of a 16-year-old Caol Ila single malt was produced by the independent bottler Malts of Scotland especially for the Scots Whisky Forum as collection No.7. The whisky was distilled in 1995, matured in an ex-port wine hogshead and was bottled at cask strength in 2011 in 299 individually numbered bottles.
Caol Ila means Sound of Islay and derives from the location of the distillery directly on the strait. Founded in 1846 and renovated from the ground up in 1974, it produces a mid-range Islay whisky.
